So, I’m looking for some input regarding these three topics. I’m honestly not big on the SCM 6 year history cycle, I prefer to get through it faster than that.  So, I was thinking of taking a more topical approach studying one topic each year:
    – World Geography
    – World History (probably using the Hillyer book)
    – Canadian Geography
    – Canadian History
    – American History
    – Then doing a 4 year history cycle for high school

What I’m torn on is where to start. I’m just torn on whether to do Canadian geo/history first, or World geo/history first? Thoughts? I was thinking maybe starting with Canada, as doing a year of Canadian history and American history back to back might be a bit redundant since so much of our history overlaps.

I vote for Canadian first.  I think that it would be more engaging at their age.

The other option I guess would be World Geography, since DS has a real interest in other countries and cultures (especially Egypt and China). I admit, I’m more prone to do interest-led in history and science. Perhaps we could split the year? Spend half on Canada, half on his interests?
