Hey, If everyone could keep our family in yours prayers and also our wonderful dog Brittany. She has been with us for 6 years and is the best dog ever.
Brittany is at the vet hospital now waiting to see where her life is to go. She was hit by a car today when my kids were taking the mail down to the box. I’m sure that she was probably out there and though I wish the person would have stopped to apologize I don’t believe it was intentional. Until we know if she’ll be able to walk or not we have to just wait.
Tomorrow morning when things are better we’ll have to make a decisions. Please pray that we’ll be lead what is best for our dog, our family and our finances (as you all can imagine it’s costly). Thanks for your prayers. Also, especially for the older children as this is hardest on them.Misty
I am so sorry Misty and will pray – we lost our dog to cancer last year and it was so difficult for us to lose him, he was after all a big part of the family. It is so hard for children and however this ends it is a learning experience all around, my hope and prayer is that it will be a positive lesson. Hugs, Linda
Oh, I’m so sorry! I hit a dog once after it and another dog ran out in front of me, and I was really shaken up by it. I went knocking on doors to try to find the owners. Thankfully a neighbor was able to help. I’ll say a prayer for you. I’ve heard losing a dog is like losing a family member. I’m sorry your kids had to see their dog hit.
Praying, Misty. Our dog, Rufus, was hit by a large farm truck several years ago as the children and I looked on. That was very tramatic for all of us. Praying for you and your sweet dog.
She had to have her front right leg removed, for the cost of any other option of surgery was not even in our budget. The vet was amazing and very kind to us. We saw her right after surgery on Wednesday night and she was crying and so sad. Which made me and dh sad. But we loved her up, calmed her down and left her a piece of clothing to smell.
We got our house in order, just like a new baby. All running done and are home for her all weekend. She’s a trooper. She wants to go up the stairs and down. Doesn’t want to walk at all and takes her meds like they are candy.
She is different but the same. The kids are doing ok with it. My 5yr old is having a hard time with what it looks like, or the lack of in her case. But I’d ask you to keep praying for my 13 yr old son who has excepted her but is very angry with the person who did it. He needs to understand forgiving. We have tried to talk to him and he is open to us but he needs time. So if you’d be so kind to ask our Lord to help Keegan to forgive this person and know forgiveness doesn’t mean we have to like the situation but we have to let God deal with the person and not us. It’s so hard sometimes to give it away. I know as an adult, and try and teach this to a child. AHHH
Thanks for praying for us, we are so very happy to have her home. She’s doing great, but needs time to heal. Blessings Misty
Glad Brittney is home and doing well. I just had to comend you on your willingness to take such good care and do what needed to be done for your sweet pup. We currently have a foster dog who was surended to the vet after he was hit by a car and the owners couldn’t (or wouldn’t?) pay the vet bill.
What a lucky dog you have. I have known a few three legged dogs and they all did great. Hope she has a speedy recovery.
And I’ll say a prayer for your son. I understand how he feels it took me years to forgive the drunk/high driver who caused the car acident which broke my (then 2yr old) daughter’s neck (she’s fine by the way no lasting damage).
