@Mysterious Lady, I purchased the eBook of LDTR and printed it out. Then I punched holes in it and put it in a 3-ring binder. Same concept as a spiral bound, but it kept me from buying another LDTR. Perhaps you could do that?

The contents of the original Laying Down the Rails didn’t change when we switched it from spiral-bound to perfect-bound. All that we changed was the binding.

A hearty congratulations to Lanaya and the rest of the SCM team for Baby LDR! To have at my fingertips the living ideas through poetry, literature and the Bible that correspond to each desired habit is such a dream come true. A labor of love is still a labor so thank you, Lanaya, and thank you to your family and the rest of SCM for this gift.

I am printing my copy right now, and can I say, I LOVE the picture of the little boy in blue boots?  He reminds me VERY much of my 4 year old….except Aidan’s boots are black.  Smile

I am so grateful for this amazing resource. I was just looking at LDR the other day, thinking that I needed to come up with a plan for habit training.  Thank you for anticipating our needs!

I want to buy this for sure. How long is the special price going to run? I am on an rv trip and I think I already purchased LDR in pdf format. I am not sure though. If I didn’t I will purchace the bundle. Will it still be going in two weeks?

    Hi, Jordan,

    You said,

If you purchase an e-book now and create an account in our store, any updates to the e-book, including new formats for e-readers, will be available for you to download in your account if/when the files are updated.

I did not know this.  How do we know if something has been updated?

I noticed that this is a special introductory price for a couple of weeks. Can I ask how much it will be after that? Thanks!

The introductory price is good through April 25. After that, the e-book will be $34.95 and the printed book will be $45.95.

How do we know if something has been updated?

We’ll likely announce any updates in our weekly e-mails, and we’ll probably post here on the forum as well.

@coralloyd, I searched through our old orders and I found that you did purchase the original Laying Down the Rails a couple years ago as an e-book.

We are about to purchase some items for our next school year and would like to know if this resource could be used intead of the Child’s Book of Character books (in the “Personal Development” area of the SCM Curriculm guide)??

Yes, I plan to recommend this new Rails companion as an alternate to Child’s Book of Character Building.

This is the best resource yet, although I think that I feel that way almost every time a new resource comes out.

Thanks so very very much for all of the hard work that was put into these books! I had put Laying Down the Rails on my reading list for this year an now will have to add this one too. So grateful!

    Blessings to the SCM staff.

I think the new book looks great! I viewed the sample pages and it brought up 2 questions:

-Is there a particular age that this is more appropriate for? I understand habit training starts from day 1 but regarding the activities is where I’m more thinking of an ideal age.

-When dc are younger than 7, is it too chaotic to simply use good, whole books as habit stories for them to hear? For example, last year I picked 1 habit to study/read for 6 weeks. Now, I’m simply picking from our habit-training books and reading different habits weekly. Mainly it was due to the difficulty in finding that many stories to read daily for 1 habit for 6 weeks.

I’m thinking the new book will be great for us in 2 years. My children will be 8, 7, 4, and 2. I’d liked to utilize the copywork and activties that are mentioned in the sample pages. If you see a different idea that I could benefit from this now, please share your thoughts.

    Thanks. Blessings, Leslie
