Well, habits are one of those things that you have to work on slowly over a long period of time. There’s enough in those 428 pages to last for many, many years. That also means there’s enough in the free sample to keep you going for a while too.
The new book points you to the corresponding pages to read in Laying Down the Rails as you gather your thoughts and prepare to focus on a habit. It also refers to Charlotte’s points that are presented in Laying Down the Rails. I guess it would be possible to use the new one without the original reference book, but you would probably feel like pieces were missing.
I have the LDR book and am eyeing the PDF children’s book but… and I hesitate to say this lest I seem ungrateful… any chance you will be offering your e-books in Kindle format anytime soon? PDFs just are not as user-friendly or easy to read for these aging eyes of mine. 😉 Or if you are going to offer Kindle versions at some point and we already own the PDF e-book, would we be able to switch over?
I have recommended your LDR book to many friends over the years, but this new resource will make it even more of a favorite!
Thanks for the link for the individual book! Yes, I followed Laura.bora’s link instead of Doug’s link and got all confused.
@MysteriousLadyinPink, I don’t have a Kindle, but is it not possible to read PDFs on a Kindle? I honestly don’t know, but I can’t imagine Kindle wouldn’t have this option because then reading pretty much any eBook would be impossible and they would lose quite a piece of the market, IMO. I have iBooks on my iPad and read eBooks in PDF format all the time. In fact, my favorite cookbooks are what I love most about my iPad!
For this resource, I’m going to splurge and get the printed book. Normally, I wouldn’t mind downloading the PDFs to iBooks and reading from the iPad, but since this resource has places for notes and goal-writing, I want to be able to utilize it fully.

We’re hoping to convert our older books to e-reader formats in the future, but it gets harder with books like Laying Down the Rails for Children that have sidebars. You can put PDF books on a Kindle, though it shrinks the page to fit the screen, which can make the text difficult to read. We encourage you to try the sample first to make sure it will work for you.
If you purchase an e-book now and create an account in our store, any updates to the e-book, including new formats for e-readers, will be available for you to download in your account if/when the files are updated.
Are the printed books (of the children’s volumes) spiral bound like the original LDR?
Laying Down the Rails for Children is perfect bound, like the current edition of Laying Down the Rails.
Yes, the PDFs on the Kindle require me to zoom in too much with each page turn. Not terrible, but I notice I don’t use the PDF books I bought as much because of this. But we are so limited on space that I am trying to force myself… and develop new *habits* of better utilizing e-books. lol
You know, I noticed that the orginal LDR photo looks like it’s perfect bound and not spiral, but I didn’t realize it was REALLY like that. 😉 Is that a revised edition compared to my older spiral-bound one? I do love the spiral binding because it just flops open flat and is so convenient for me to read hands-free.
