Does anyone have a child with dysgraphia? If so, what do you do to make things easier for math? My dd is 12 and this handwriting issue is really starting to get in the way of learning math. What do you do when you get to higher math?

1cm graph paper with blue lines.
I buy it from Miller’s Pads and Paper when they are at a local convention. I cannot find 1cm graph paper locally, and the 1cm graph paper I bought from Amazon had black lines which made it difficult to use since it was difficult to see the numbers.
I re-write the problem so that eliminates some of the writing.
I have just recently started letting him use Dragon Naturally Speaking for his written narrations while he continues to work on typing. I haven’t thought about using it for math but speech-to-text would be the next step.

Dragon Naturally Speaking is a speech recognition software. You talk, and the program types for you.
My son’s dysgraphia is significant enough that he may not reach an adequate typing speed. DNS was recommended as an option to help improve his written output.
Hope the graph paper works out for you!

I wonder if using that app would be an option as an accommodation for SATs/college? I wish I owned an Ipad to give it a try!

Mod Math looks really cool! I am very sad, however, b/c I cannot get it for my tablet …….looking into to Dragon Naturally Speaking.

Awe, bum. Sorry they don’t have it for other platforms. I will be checking out dragon, as well for his laptop. Graph paper is a great idea, too. I learn so much from these threads. 🙂
