Can you tell me if it addresses how to use Strayer Upton BOOK 3 in a C M fashion? The discription for the companion vids says they address elementary,  but I’m not sure on how far the book goes.

Well, actually the discription does say it covers through high. Does it spend enough time there? Are the examples explained well (since the companion vids only cover elementary) in the book? Would you feel it a wise purchase if you were not using it for elementary?

If you want a CM Purist perspective on math, it addresses that.

If you want more help teaching in a similar way, I recommend Ray’s For Today.  I’m not sure how many levels they have published so far.

The scope and sequence in the book covers through high school, but the focus of the book is more on the CM methods for math.  I found the DVD better at showing how to implement the methods, even though the scope did not go as high as where we were.  I was able to understand the CM math methods well enough to apply to our CLE teacher’s guide and supplement with oral/mental story problems in Strayer Upton books two and three.  We were around the 600 level of CLE when I started to implement some of the CM methods.  The biggest improvements I found were in mental math and seeing the usefulness of math.  He stopped asking when he was ever going to use this stuff!
