would you list them seperately or like a curriculum for a certain time period..all in one pkg.?

I have at least 20-25 items for Early American Time Period plus nature, art, music. I don’t know if combining would be just too much for someone to purchase..even though I am thinking almost half off retail price. What do you think? If you were looking for a time period…would you buy a set or seperately? And then there is shipping!!  I am guessing at least $10??!! Not sure??

    Thanks for the advice!

OH..or would you just keep it all for the future?

If I was pretty sure I’d use it again, I would keep it.

I think, unless it is a whole set (for example, Little House on the Prairie), I would list them separately but maybe give a discount if a group of them is ordered by one person.

There have been a couple times that I’ve been looking for a certain book to finish off what is needed for our study and I keep finding it in someones set, but I already have the other books, I only need the one.  I would rather have the choice.  Not necessarily a “set” like Little House on the prairie but all the books needed for, for example, 106 Days of Creation Study Set.  Hope that made sense.

I would sell it together if it was a set (like boxed curriculum). Otherwise, I would piece it out individually. The hassle there is packing and shipping to multiple people. I would keep classics, things you are sure you want to use again, or things that would be expensive to repurchase. That being said, I am in the process of getting rid of lots of books I was hanging onto “just in case”. I need to free up some space…and money…lol.

I would price them individually but also offer an option to buy them as a set for a slight discount.  I purchase things both ways.

Keep what you’ll need next time around but don’t hesitate to get rid of things you’ll never need again or wouldn’t like to read again for whatever reason.

I would list them seperatly.  It seems like you can get more for seperate items on e-bay… IMA

Then, what is left over I would make  package deals in sets of 3, 4 or 5.   If it hasn’t sold after the package, deal I would put in a good book that screams “Buy me!, with this set”  so it is so irresistable that someone will have to want it….

             or

If you have more than one set left over after that, I would combine them…  IMA

                 HOpe this helps you!  BLessings!

I sell seperately and I have not found it too difficult selling to different addresses. I am keeping books that are collectibles meaning my original hard cover H. E. Marshall books and Arabella Buckley books that I picked up in a junk shop in England…and books that have become fast favourites of ours as a family. Books that I think could change over the years like Truthquest I am selling or have sold, and math or science curriculum that get updated I sell when we have finished with them. Classics I keep, hardbacks I keep if they are of value to us and the rest I sell. I would keep all my books if I could, but there are some that it is not too painful to let go and others that I will never part with. I think sometimes people prefer to see individual books rather than a package, because a CM education generally means that often people have one or two books in a package and then don’t want to rebuy them. I never bought a package because most times I had at least some of the books, so I would stick with individual books.

Individual I would say. That is what I do. I do always say I will consider offering a percent off discount if someone purchases multiple books.

Shipping should be $5 or less to most places in US. For $4.90 (using on-line printing), you can ship with a priority mail box (which holds a TON of books). No weight limit. If the box seals, it ships anywhere to/from in US for $4.90.

Media mail is another option, albeit slower. I use whichever is cheaper or priority if buyer specifies and pays for that.

Great ladies! Thanks so much for the advice!

How I came up w/ that amt for shipping was if someone bought a ton of books! Was thinking about the weight!

I knew about priority boxes but I guess I didn’t realize they had larger sizes! Thanks 🙂

So Individual it it 🙂 And I will double check …again…which books I need to keep!

Just wanted to add that for me, as a buyer, I really like to buy book lots for time-period history. So, for example, if I saw a website with indiviual books of Early American History for $3 each, I might not weed through to find out which ones to buy. If I saw a lot of 10 books for $30, or something like that, I’d be more likely to buy. I like one-stop shopping. 😉

One thing I do is use subheadings (if posting to my blog), so someone can look quickly. jawgee has a good point and I’m the same way. Like ease of use. So you could always list them under a subheading like “Sonlight Core 1” or something like that. Put individual prices beside each book but in bold print somewhere within say something like “If you would like to purchase the entire lot of “Sonlight Core 1” books listed here, I will give you 10% off for a total of $XX. Percent is just a suggestion, but I do think you need to do at least 10% to make someone feel they are getting a deal. Hope you sell it all!
