I am planning out my school year and will be using the SCM lesson plans with recommended reading materials this next school year for the first time. If you use the module lesson plans, do you use an additional Bible study curriculum or are you just using Scripture Memory work and the Bible included in the lesson plans?

We add in some Catechism memory work (10 Commandments, Lord’s Prayer, etc.) along with the scripture memory.   We also do our hymn study at this time.

We’ll be using Module 4 next year and it only has one day of Bible planned.  We started a 2 day OT/2 day NT schedule of Bible readings earlier this summer.  Starting in the fall, Mondays and Tuesdays will be an OT reading, Wednesday will be an Epistle study (following the history module), and Thursday & Friday will be NT readings.

I also like to read a children’s Bible to my younger DC.  We’ve read through several different ones over the years.  When we did Module 1, I added the Greenleaf Guide to the Old Testament.  It gave me lots of open-ended questions to use for narration.
