My dd7 was balking at some lessons we needed to do this afternoon due to being out of the house this morning. She said, in an exasperated tone, “I just want to read my book or climb a tree!” I had to correct the disrespectful nature of the comment, but it made me smile. I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon myself…lol

So after correcting the tone etc…. did you end up letting her climb a tree and read a book???

LOL No…we had to finish up. We are about done, then I’ll let her climb a tree. 🙂 She wants to take the book into the tree…lol

LOL So did she get to take the book into the tree?
My dd8 (a booklover and tree climber, too) just finished American Tall Tales, and on her own picked out my large Carroll book with Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking-Glass, and a couple other stories in it. She says so far she likes the story better than the Disney movie (which she can’t stand). I told her that is often the case with books and movies. Hee, hee!

American Tall Tales…I’ll look into that! That would go along nicely with our American History this year. And I might have to get her that Carroll book for Christmas! Thanks for mentioning it!! (I’m a book hoarder…no self control…none!) She has tried to take books into the tree, but hasn’t *quite* figured out how to get it there while climbing…and how to keep the pages from blowing around. lol
eta: Which Carroll book do you have? I was on Amazon searching for it…
