I also have a Cuisinart. I have done a lot of research on this and decided to stick w/this although I am pretty sure the non stick finish is Teflon.
I would never cook w/Teflon but since you do not cook the ice cream I think it is pretty safe, as long as you do not scratch it. My kids know to NEVER use metal spoons in it.
I looked for one w/stainless steel finish, I found one model for a lot of $$$$.
It was not worth it to me.
