My gals are dyslexic and being so, we are behind on grammar instruction. I have purchased Using Language Well and I think it is going to be a nice, gentle introduction. We are starting Spelling Wisdom 1 as well. So, perfect time to start it up.
My older boys however have had a pretty good coverage of grammar. They are the ones I have faltered with trying to find what CM friendly resource we will use to keep grammar a review. Analytical Grammar was honestly more than I wanted to spend currently, ULW was too easy, they have used multiple years of Rod and Staff Grammar and Michael Clay Thompson’s Grammar Island several years back (LOVE IT, BTW!) Would have also considered MCT’s Voyage or Town level but again BUDGET!!! So, I found on abebooks dot come, Barron’s Painless Grammar. It looks perfect to use along with dictation, narration and CM methods.
Has anyone else used this resource for grades 7 or older that have had a good background of Grammar for an informal review and refresher?
