I was sick the other day and we didn’t get anything done. My kids can do some things independently, but not motivated to start or anything without my direction.
Well, I had the thought that at one point I had a list of a few things my kids could do that was educational but not needing really my direction at all…. and that I need to make that up….
And then my flash of briliance!
We don’t do school on saturday or sunday – and I generally put stuff on those that we do occasionally (like field trips) so they are out of the way – but easy to add in when we do it (by clicking on show resources not normally scheduled)
Well – I’m going to figure out some sick-day resources and schedule them on Sunday…. and have that ‘S’ on the schedule be sick days. The occasional stuff I’ll put on Saturday (‘S’ for sometimes?)
So if I am sick – all I need to do is pop open the organizer, close that day’s items, then quickly open the Sickday (Sunday) items and print – then I can lay down on the couch.
(Now for a feature that I could just say – pretend today is -such and such day- to print off the daily list. Ie, instead of showing me today’s (Friday’s) list – please show me Sunday’s. (Actually, that would be handy while checking out what the daily list looks like while I’m doing original scheduling too….)
Suzukimom, I hope you feel better and don’t have regular sick days.
How about thinking that S on Sunday stands for Special Day or Self-Ed Day…for those days when things are just special…sick day sounds sort of sad…happy thoughts for you.
You always have practical and cool organizer ideas.
