Do any of you use hymn books as part of your family singing/worship time? I’ve found several at the local City Mission, but they are different from one another and don’t always have the same songs. I’d love to find a hymn book I could purchase several copies of, so that we could each use the same version. I’m compiling a list of our favorite hymns and plan to print some out and put them, hole-punched, in prong folders, adding to it as we add new hymns. But if I could find something more inclusive I’d love to consider that instead.

    Thanks,

This is what we are going to use for hymn study.  The hymns are in the books along with a short history.

We use the hymnal from our church and we always got a nice one for ourselves here ; http://WWW.nph.net

We also use cds of hymn music from the Christian group Koine (pronounced Koy-nay or coin-a).

From here: http://www.koinemusic.com. I always brag about them because their lead singer’s grandmother is a member of my church.

We learn a new hymn about twice a month. And take breaks when they have other parts to learn for ss and Christmas ss during the year. I also purchased 101 hymn stories that has some of our same hymns and has a bit of history about the hymn and the author.
