We just broke for dinner. Sonya is, as usual, doing a wonderful job of making a CM education doable and inspiring and encouraging the attendees to do it!
It’s fabulous! We are having a great time. As always, Sonya is funny and full of excellent information and inspiration. We’ve been able to meet Doug and Jordan, as well. They are filming this conference live, and everything seems to be going smoothly. And of course, Sonya’s husband John is manning the product area, which we all browse/drool over at every break.
Looks like a great turnout! So wish I could have gone. Just had some oral surgery and watched the Books and Things seminar yesterday while recovering and wondered how this one was going. How long til it will be available to purchase? I have lots of moms in my library who would really benefit.
@Doug, I can’t believe I forgot to mention Ruth! She’s just so quiet and still, you hardly know she’s there! The mark of a gentle and quiet spirit, no doubt. 😉
These are from the morning session today where everyone got to be students for a CM morning. Hopefully, some who were part of that will tell what it was like.
And here are a few people you might know from the forum. That would be Jordan running the camera, missceegee on the left in the green, and LindseyD on the right asking a question or narrating.
I’m so honored to have hosted Sonya and the SCM team for the second time. Sonya doesn’t consider herself an expert on Charlotte Mason, but rather loves to share what she’s learned along the journey. Most of us will respectfully disagree with her on the expert thing. 😉 Sonya is incredibly gifted as a speaker. She knows her subject well and is passionate about it. Her seminars are like a living book being written before your eyes. You know it’s good when it sticks with you and you ruminate long over the information. Saturday’s sessions were new and I enjoyed being the guinea pig! Immersion lesson was wonderful and especially so for those new to the methods. I was encouraged and inspired during the high school session to stay the course, keep the methods and trust the process while keeping the end goal in sight. What is the end goal? Graduation? College? No, the end goal is a person, a whole person, with good habits and character, necessary life skills, love of learning, and the ability to continue learning all through life. Good encouragement to keep our eye on the prize – the real prize.
Ruth and Jordan were lovely young people and I greatly enjoyed meeting them and seeing their active roles in the SCM business. John, Sonya’s husband, is great fun. A real jokester. Doug was the tech guru as usual handling conference tech and website tech during very long, busy days. The entire team was simply fabulous and we welcome them back to Jacksonville anytime!
I’m so sorry that Jacksonville is at the completely opposite side of the country as I would have loved to attend. Looking forward to the production of this DVD as I’m be snatching it up right away. Hurry, hurry SCM team. 🙂
