I’d like to be able to add our artist and composer study to the SCM Organizer, but I can’t figure out a way to do it. We typically study one piece of artwork and one piece of music for a few weeks. Is there a way to schedule this?

    Thanks!

    Hi, Rhonda –

We usually study one artist’s work or one composer’s work for six weeks. We do a picture study on a different picture by that same artist every week. It sounds like you may do things a bit differently, but here’s how I usually set up an artist study in the CM Organizer. I Add a Resource with the name of the artist that we are studying. Then I enter six (because we will be doing it for six weeks) numbered divisions (no division titles). I schedule it for the whole family. Then on the day we do the picture study, I add a Note with the name of the picture and check it off as Finished; repeat for the six pictures/weeks.

For music study, we don’t focus on a particular song; we just listen to that composer’s music randomly during the six weeks. So I usually Add a Resource with the name of the composer and No divisions. Then I check off Worked On each day that we listen to that composer’s music and Finished when we’re ready to move on to a different composer.

Does that give you some ideas? I’d love to hear how others set up these subjects.

    Sonya,

Thank you! You are are always so helpful. I appreciate it.

Since I know what paintings and music I want to listen to, I think I’ll add those to the division titles. I think that would work well.
