I would like to take the time to introduce any new vocabulary words at the beginning of the lesson.  I feel like I need to underline in my book and write the definition in the margin but I don’t want to ruin the book.  What is your system?

I’d also like to keep track of the vocabulary words we’ve learned.  What is your system for that too?

Anything else you do in this area?

Could you just do a post-it note on the page? Or something like that. As for keeping up with them maybe just keep a running list?

I write in books!! But I also make quizlet or vocabulary dot com pages for books.  Quick and easy.

Missceegee, I’m shocked to hear you write in your books!  It certainly seems easiest.  I’m not familiar with the other things you mentioned.

Kayla, a post-it note will last 2 minutes until someone (2yo or 4yo) steal it for their “school” book.

    thanks!

I write in personal copies and give dd14 her own literature copies in high school to write in.  I don’t write in all of my books bc I lend them and my writing is like a diary of sorts. Look up Mortimer Adler’s How to Mark a Book.  Good summary of my thoughts!

Quizlet.com and Vocabulary.com are websites that work like flashcards.  I pre make lists by chapter for books.  It’s the easiest for me without having paper.
