More of that fun coding. Doug could explain why it’s coded this way, but I’ll at least tell you how. 🙂
Just like with the italics and boldface, you want to surround your text. So if you want to include a link to the CM Bookfinder you would type in front of that phrase
/
Make sure that little closing arrow is right up next to the phrase with no space in between.
Then at the end of the phrase, also with no space in between type
I hope I added enough other text so this thing doesn’t think I just put in a link to something. I’ll push Send and see . . .
There are two ways you can add links. The first is really easy; just type the URL and it automatically becomes a link. As you know, that shows the entire URL.
The second way is more complicated but it lets you decide what text should be linked. Let’s say you want to link to http://simplycharlottemason.com but you want the words “Charlotte Mason method” to be the text. Let’s also say you want to include that as part of a sentence. Here’s how you do it:
<a href="URL">text to link</a>
And here’s the example I just described:
SCM is a great place to get information about the <a href="http://simplycharlottemason.com">Charlotte Mason method</a>.
Well, that is very helpful. I am becoming computer savvy now. Thanks! Now, how to keep track of it; could these directions be put with the other ones on the Welcome & Guidelines?
