Curious how long school typically takes for a year 3 student.  Also wondering how much of that would be quiet time-type reading from a booklist (ie books like The Little Princess that I’d require but she’s reading herself at her own pace).

The general guideline per Charlotte Mason is 15-20 minutes per subject, with some obviously shorter (think 5 minutes for copywork, 5-10 for picture study or composer study, etc).  So depending on how many subjects you’re doing you should be able to add it up easily, and recognize that not every subject is done every day.

My kids are easily done before lunch except the 8th grader, who sometimes has work in the afternoon, mainly reading. My others are 4th, 3rd, 1st, K, and 3 younger ones.
