This is killing our productivity. I waste so much time just waiting for the organizer to do something. This is going on 2 weeks now. How much longer will this last?
Sorry about the slowness. The Organizer is actually supposed to be a little faster after the recent updates. When I try it from here, it moves right along. Could you send me a message through our contact form? That will send me some details about your computer and Internet connection that could help us figure out what’s going on.
We’re having the same problem here. I just thought it was my internet connection or something to do with the recent updates. Didn’t realize others were having the same problems.
It would be great to also get a connection speed test from all of you, if you don’t mind. Please visit speedtest and select the city closest to you. It will run a test and then give you both a download an upload speed. If you could let us know both of those numbers it would be great.
By the way, if you notice things running slow and want to test your connection speed at the time, this is a great way to do it.
How does one know what your speed should be? My numbers for the test are much lower than Laura.bora’s, but it’s only on occasion that I notice sites loading slowly.
BTW, this is my result:
Your Speed Result: Download Speed: 620 kbps (77.5 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 325 kbps (40.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
I don’t pay very much for high-speed internet through my phone company, so it’s probably not great. I just remind myself of the year or so that I put up with a dial-up connection, and I’m grateful to have something that doesn’t take so long to load that I can go and wash all of the lunch dishes while waiting for a page to load! (Of course, now I’m not getting as much housework done, lol!)
@Laura.bora and @missceegee, Your speeds are quite fast so that does likley mean we have a problem on our end that we had not been aware of.
Do you notice the Organizer being slow all the time or just now and then or just certain actions?
@Sue, Yours is faster than dial up but still fairly slow. You may be seeing a combination of any problem we have along with some slowness from your conneciton.
It’s slow all the time (like it doesn’t clear up at certain times of the day), but it’s the longest for me when you hit the top tab buttons (like the scheduler or the daily plan). It takes about 20 – 30 seconds to load when you have to switch from one tab to the other.
And when you switch from family work to a student, or from one student to another, it takes about 10 esconds to load, and it will have the “one moment” with the spinning circle thing next to it.
And when you try to mark something “worked on” or finished, you get the “one moment” with the spinning circle, and it takes maybe 5 seconds for it to register. But as it is processing it, you can still scroll down and up on the daily plan to figure out what else you need to check off.
We are looking at getting Internet in the next month. I’m ditching my iPhone to do it. We ditched dial up and opted for the iPhone after being promised we’d get Internet service. I can get it if I hold my phone in the window or go outside. Our 2 year contract is up mid may. PTL!
My question: what speed, etc. should I request in order to possibly use the CMO with success. I like my paper version, but consider CMO every once in a while. With the phone it was an absolute impossibility for consideration. If we ate able to get a service, I may reconsider and want to be equipped for it to work well. I’m in the hopeful stage. But, we had to rule out two providers who weren’t able to get a signal to us because of location.
I just wanted to let everyone know that we are actively working on figuring out the slowness and getting it fixed. We’re going to need to monitor things for a while to be able to nail down the problem, though. I apologize for the delays while we work that out.
By the way, this is not something that is happening to everyone. We had not known about it until the post here. So in the future, be sure to let us know when there is a problem rather than live with it for a couple weeks.
