How do you use CM's Ourselves?

    I’d like to incorporate CM’s Ourselves for my two this coming year – they will be 12 and 13.

    I am going to download the MP3 audio onto their ipods, but I think reading along would be benficial, too.

    DO I get Vol. 4 Ourselves and Vol. 5 Formation of Character?

    How do some of you use this book (or these books) in a way that’s meaningful?

    I have both read aloud and my older girls have read to themselves.  Either way, we do a narration on this – often oral because great discussions come out of these readings.  Usually this is read only once or twice a week in our home.

    Thank you. I thought I should read along with them. For ex: assign one chap. maybe 1-2x a week and I’ll read my chapter in advance, they can narrate and we can discuss.

    Do I need to get both of these books or just Ourselves?

    Just get Ourselves. Formation of Character is very different. I read most of Ourselves aloud to my kids and we also narrated or discussed.

    Saw the HUFI suggestion to read 22 pages per term beginning in year 7 through graduation. Check CMHelp or AO for more details.
