How do I make the scheduler use a smaller lesson?

I’m scheduling an Apologia Science book, Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day and it shows lessons 1-9 but it seems to be expecting us to go through one lesson per day when each lesson actually can have up to 40 text pages and along with the notebooking book that goes with it, each lesson can go two to three weeks! Not one day. How do I switch how lesson one is broken down? For this book or any other for that matter? For example what if we don’t want to read a chapter a day of a fiction book if the chapters are too long to complete in one day?  Thanks

You have a couple of choices….

You can leave it as is – and just mark ‘Worked on’ all the days until done…

    Or

Copy or make the resource and make the divisions what you want. It could be pages, or sections, or whatever. As you can put in a description, you can make it what you want…

I just check worked on. For example I have chosen 8-10 scripture memory verses for the year but I don’t know how long it will take the kids to master it. So my resource only has 10 divisions and I check worked on, when they do master it and we want to move to the next verse I mark it as completed.

Thanks ladies! Its just frustrating that this can’t be manipulated beyond that.  For certain reasons, I really need to show the actual work for the day (pages, chapter etc). Guess I’ll have to keep a paper scheduler too to record the details :/

    Thanks again 🙂

For the chapter/lesson breakdown divide it the way you would like.  Put pages instead of chapters for the sections.  I’m going to mark things as worked on because that works for us but I could see the other way working just fine too.

As mayneisland and suzukimom mentioned, you can make a personal copy of any resource and change the divisions to whatever format works best for you.

Another idea is to use the assignment notes feature to write down the additional information that you need. That information will show up on your reports next to the completed assignment.

Oh, now I understand. I remember seeing how to do that in the video, I’ll just go back and watch it again and then try it out. Thank you all so much.
