I’m curious what the criteria are, and once the bookfinder is changed so that we can share our resources, will it basically be a free for all?

Also, if I have a book that I would like to see added, can I put a suggestion into the SCM team?

    Thanks!

The initial set of books in the Bookfinder came from our experience with books we knew. Over the years, we’ve kept an eye out for books that others were adding for themselves and added those if we thought they would have wide appeal.

once the bookfinder is changed so that we can share our resources, will it basically be a free for all?

Anyone will be able to mark the books they add for sharing. That will mean that there will be a lot more books in the system that you don’t have to enter. But here are four reasons why we don’t think it will quite be a free for all:

    1. We believe everyone will be sensible and not share things that aren’t useful to the community, such as a custom resource for “Johnny feed the dog”. 🙂 And we’ll clean things like that up if they accidentally slip through.
    2. Resources added by SCM that we particularly like will still have the little “[CM]” label as they do now. We may add that label to books that others add if we notice some of them that are really great CM resources.
    3. You’ll be able to see who added any resource. Over time we expect that you’ll start learning who shares your particular likes of books. You can then choose books based on that trust that has developed.
    4. The comments feature will still be available to discuss the qualities of a book to help everyone determine if that book might be a good fit for their use.

Oh, I LOVE that we’ll be able to see who added the book!  Very exciting!!!

Thanks so much for your reply.  That clears things up quite a bit.  🙂
