Thank you, Amanda. I’m always reminding myself not to compare my autistic son to others his age, always reminding his sisters not to compare him to themselves….or themselves to each other. Your blog post is a good reminder not to compare myself to other moms or my family to other families.
Whenever we start to throw a pity party (even if it’s a party of one), the enemy of our souls always assumes he’s invited….or just crashes the party. That’s when trouble really starts in our minds and hearts!
Wonderful article Amanda! I’ve been feeling some tension lately about not getting to things as well as I’d like, but having time to spend on the computer…..feel like I’ve read SO many ideas…if I could just implement better what I know and not try to keep finding MORE to implement:) Thanks! Gina
Thank you! So true……I’ve recently started realizing how I’m doing everything in my own power and not truly seeking the One who knows what my children need. Should we do violin, Latin, French or Spanish?? He know the plans for their lives and I am learning to trust that he will make the path clear for each one.
Now hopefully I won’t pull out what remaining hair I have after all these babies ;D
Amen Amanda! Listening to the One who created us and knows exactly what we need to school successfully is the key!
Even after many years of homeschooling, I still need reminding of this important lesson. 🙂
I think many homeschool moms are feeling pressure ( including me) with the upcoming state tests. It shouldn’t matter, but somehow it creeps up as a concern in the back of my mind. But that’s not the voice I need to listen to!
