I wouldn’t see any problem. The transaction is between the two people. It is just a forum. It would be just as if you put it up on any web page or a news paper. Paypal or any other way is always handled threw the two people anyway. Besides I have found that most people that are homeschoolers are honest and I have never had a problem with buying from them. Sure things happen but they could write on their for those two days that they are not responsiable for anything. It is up to the disgression of the buyer/seller. I would be fine with that. You don’t have to buy anything from someone you don’t know one here. It should be that way anyway. We know each other. We can tell what kind of person someone is if you just talk to them long enough. You can even tell the writing style of one person from another. Heck, alot of people have blogs. You can really learn alot about people from that one thing alone. :0

Thanks for asking, everyone. We encourage you to use sites and groups already set up for buying and selling curriculum, particularly the CMcurricula group, since it is geared toward CM style items. Another possibility might be Homeschool Classifieds. Our heart is to keep this forum a place for encouraging discussion, rather than buying and selling.
That said, we aren’t going to kick you off if you are a regular contributor to the discussions and happen to post an item for sale every once in a while, but please try to use the PM feature in those transactions as much as possible so as not to clutter the main forum pages.

Thanks for clarifying Sonya, I thought that was the case….I think if we have something that we would like to give this community a chance to buy first, we could perhaps put a note up to say please pm me for a list, or some such thing, and then from there on it should be off the forum and dealt with privately. With all the spam out there I would hate to cause this site to get more or have any other issues. I do feel though that sometimes there are ladies on here who would appreciate having first dibs on something prior to putting it on one of the other selling sites….do you think that would be acceptable? Linda

Thanks so much Sonya, then that is what I will do whenever I have a list to share, which in my case will be sometime in January…..I am glad we have a clear picture of what we can do to make it easy for everyone…Linda

I really appreciate the advice and sharing of thoughts & ideas on this forum in addition to the sense of community here. I would hate to have all of that change, and I can see Sonya’s point of view on this. I think it is the right approach…..might I say a “gentle approach” to forum management? (How very CM!)
