History Spine question

From a Christian’s point of view, what are your thoughts on the book series by William Bennett, America the Last Best Hope? Also, the series by Peter Marshall, The Light and the Glory, etc? We have too many choices for American History and it’s a distraction. That probably sounds bad, but I need to weed some books out as too many “spine” type choices become overwhelming for me. I am not sure that I want to use either set. I know that SCM uses the Bennett books, but we are not using SCM.
