Is SCM history modules that several people mention here the same as the ones from Greenleaf Press as Sonya seems to follow that rotation? I think I would like to begin with American history after reading the BF Books info. I like BF but also like the look of Queen’s American History books. The BF seems to be really expensive. I am confused, this is my first year. I have an 8 yr old and 12 yr old. I do think I will do BFeet’s geography, it looks real interesting. Any advice would be appreciated.
So if I use SCM modules, is it ok to start with 5 because of the beginning of American History there, then rotate to module 1 after finishing 6. Or is it absolutely necessary to begin with 1 to avoid confusion. Remember I have an 8 and 12 yr old. I just feel they need to know things about America first, maybe I’m wrong though.
I think you will enjoy the BF Geography course. I am using it this year with my 9 yo. I would encourage you to start with a SCM history module of your choice. If you like any of the BF history books for the same time period (they do have great suggestions!), you can incorporate them as a read aloud or additional independent reading. That is what we are doing as we study the Middle Ages this year.
