History Modules: First versus Second Editions

This year has been our first year homeschooling. In my search for used curriculum last year, I purchased Module 1 in the first edition. I didn’t notice it until it was in my home and we used it. The purchase included the books needed. Now that I am ready to order for year 2 and Module 2, I’m wondering if I should purchase the first or second edition. We did NOT enjoy the Ancient History Book. However, I notice other books are scheduled differently. So, for those with experience with both editions, what is the difference? Can someone elaborate? I downloaded the the samples of each and it just made me more confused about which to use. Thank you!
