I am beginning to homeschool my 2nd grader this year and have a few questions about teaching history.  Is this age too young to begin a Book of Centuries.  I know CM students usually began it in 6th grade.  Also, I am in PA and required to teach him early American history thought the Revolution, which is my field of work so I am comfortable with it.  However, I would like to go back a bit in history so he can see how the world got set up with kings, empires, and colonies.  Any suggestions on how to best approach it with a visual learner?

Have you looked at Home School in the Woods Record of Time? It’s pricy, but visual.  Not sure if that helps.
