Has anyone used Diana Warings History Alive materials? We’ve been looking into them and love the way she ties in the Bible with History. However,I wondered how I could implement her history guides in with CM. If anyone has experience with this, I would love to hear about it. I would like it if SCM had an ancient Rome guide as this is what were heading into. Thanks and a big hug to all of you!

I haven’t used the curriculum on my children, but I did purchase the tapes for myself. They were magnificent. I really love the energy she has place into connecting biblical history in history. I dont’ think that came out right. I am fairly new to Cm and stil reading her books, so I can’t tell you how to tie it in cm style. She believed in good literature and to be honest I would consider waring a great read. As long as the learner is enthusiastic I don’t see how you could not use it for a read.
I know I wasn’t much help, but I just had to say she is great. Her research was a blessing to me.
Thanks for the thoughts on Diana Waring. We ended up getting her History Alive Audios -“What in the World is Going on Here” and “True Tales”. We LOVE her and I too am thankful for her research. My boys ages 8 and 13 enjoy listening to her as well.
Also, I’ve found that her history guides have great literature recommendations – infact some of them are on the SCM bookfinder and curriculum guide. I’ve found that I can incorporate just about anything into the CM style of learning. Thats what I love about Simply Charlotte Mason- it makes it practical and individual for each family.
Its good to have you here with us, Hazel. Thanks again.
I saw Diana Waring at the ICHE conference in Naperville, IL, and she was fantastic! I definitely plan to use her materials as my girls get a little older. I’m glad to hear that she ties in nicely with CM.
Faith 🙂
