Does anyone know of a condensed American history course for highschool? We have Notgrass but due to recent medical issues my son is having, this is a bit too much right now. He plans on going into engineering, so math & sciences are main focus. However, I would still like him to have a good overview of AH, possibly enough to prepare him to study for the AH 1 Clep. Thanks for any thoughts.

Hmm.  Have you thought of going straight to a CLEP prep book for AH and then just adding in a bio or two?

I have thought of going straight to the REA Clep prep book, but have to admit -getting in panic mode thinking it won’t be “enough”. Any ideas? Can I ask…if you were to choose only a bio or two for your boys, which would you recommend? Thanks.

John Adams by David McCullough, and any reputable Washington. Plus possibly toss in a viewing of A More Perfect Union . . .Maybe an Abraham Lincoln?

The REA books are not exactly scintillating reading, but the best way to prepare for the test is to use a test prep.
