17yo ds is in his final year of high school. Plans are for programming degree from local CC.  With this degree he takes either a Pre-Calculus class or Quantative Literacy.  This is the only math I believe he will be required to take.

He used LOF for Beginning and advanced Algebra. Used MUS for Geometry.  He is not gifted in math and doesn’t really like math… DH (engineer with heavy math background) says he has a good understanding. DS wants something easy this year but I want to challenge him.  I just don’t know the best choice.

I was looking at MUS Pre-Calc but their Pre-calc is mainly Trig… I really wanted to give DS a basic understanding of Pre-Calc to give him an advantage for the college level course.

Really not sure where to go from here….. Any advice?

Have you checked the options on Khan Academy?  That’s a great way for kids to learn concepts and practice.  http://www.khanacademy.com.

Is Teaching Textbooks an  option?  TT has a Pre-Calc program.  I haven’t used the Pre-Calc with them, but we’ve used everything from TT4 through TT Algebra I, and I am very happy with the quality of their curriculum.  They walk students through any problem that they are hung up on, and the lectures are thorough.
