We’re new to pretty new to TN and new to High School.  Is there a way to teach history in chronological order (which is what I would rather do) and report credits to the state?  Has anyone done this and have advise, or does everyone do all of US History in 1 year, etc.

Also, if you have done it in chronological order, which umbrella school works with this the best?

Many, many homeschoolers do history in chronological order and simply plug the right history credits into the routine years. With Simply Charlotte Mason curriculum, for instance, you get 1/2 credit world history and 1/2 a credit American history for the last two modules. After completing both, you can give your student a credit in each.  I would just put one in 9th grade and the other in 10th since this is what most colleges are used to seeing.
