Well, I’ve been lurking for months and decided it’s time to introduce myself.
I have 3 kids, almost 5, 3, and 1 (boy, boy, girl) and a wonderful husband. We live in Santa Ana, CA. I taught elementary grades for 9 years at private schools while my husband was in school, and waited patiently for motherhood. I feel so blessed to be a stay at home mom and have planned to homeschool since my husband and I were dating. Such a thrill to be living the dream now!
Charlotte Mason’s vision for education resonates deeply with me and I have so enjoyed getting a glimpse into your homeschooling lives by visiting this forum.
We love our little church, but unfortunately no stay at home moms, much less homeschoolers. I crave a connection to other like minded mamas and pray that God will lead us to families that share our values.
I am so touched by this community, especially the outpouring of love for Holly. I just wanted you all to know what a blessing you are to me. And if there are any mamas with young ones wanting to go on nature adventures or just meet at a park, give me a holler!

Oh, I wish we could go on a nature adventure with you! I went to school in Monterey and later worked in Anaheim but –through a series of events– have found ourselves in Western Massachusetts.
It is so sweet to hear you are living your dream! And, welcome (officially) to the SCM forum! Hopefully someone physically local to you will find you through the forum. I know Corin Jones on Instagram is in SoCal but am unsure exactly where.

Hi there! I have a 13 year old daughter and feel the same way. I really want to connect with some like minded moms here in Orange County that have chosen a Charlotte Mason education. If you know of anyone around offering a CO OP, nature studies, or field trips let me know we are sort of new out here and still trying to get plugged in.

Hi robinmuni, where in OC are you? I am in South Orange County and belong to an amazing, but small, homeschool group called South Orange County Christian Homeschoolers (SOCCO for short). We meet weekly for park days and classes (if you choose to take them) and fellowship. It is not excluseively a CM group, but I think at least half of us are. We do have nature studies and field trips as well. You can check out our group at this website

Welcome. Thank you for reminding me of what a blessing it is to be a stay at home mom. I have been home for eleven years and too often take that for granted. Thanks for sharing your joy in living your dream of motherhood.

Hello ladies,
We recently moved to Oceanside, CA and would love to connect with others
I am a homeschool mom of 14 years to 5 daughters, ages 16-7. I’ve recently come across Charlotte Mason and have fallen in love. While I do have a junior in high school, I am hoping to reignite a love for learning and reading that was taken away by my curriculum choices. For those following behind, I hope to give them a fire for learning and rekindle what has been lost.
We are looking for community, to plant roots and develop a strong bond with others.

Hi Katheryn, I am in South Orange County. Not super close to Oceanside but not super far either. We belong to an amazing group that meets on Fridays. There are some classes offered, but we mostly go for fellowship and field trips. Each Friday after classes we meet at a park for lunch and visiting. One of the things I love about out group is the wonderful Godly young ladies. My daughter is just 12 but I love that she has these olders girls to mentor her. Hi! I am in Corona, Ca but venture to OC regularly as we have a Disneyland annual pass. We also belong to a small CM group in Corona that meets a few times per month 🙂 You can check us out: http://www.graceandgloryacademy.org
