I havent been around much over the last couple of months. Things have just been crazy here.
Jarret (DH) fell the day before Asher was born and then had to have major leg reconstruction surgery due to the fall.
My parents came the end of April through the first part of May to be here for his surgery. He is still home four weeks post op and still has a minimum of another 3 weeks at home.
I had to take him this morning to have an ultrasound done on his leg because it keeps turning purple. Praise the Lord there is not a clot but his vessels are constricted. But, they were more concerned that his lymph nodes in his groin area are enlarged.
We are *patiently* waiting to hear back from the doctor.
I am looking forward to getting back on here meeting all the new folks and trying to prepare for school. We were suppose to start back in April but the Lord had other plans.
I will keep praying for you and your husband. I can see you are going through a tough time right now but remember that they always come to an end. Though I also have to be reminded of that everyday.
I am sorry I didn’t respond sooner. Yes, that is my sweet Asher. That picture is about a month old. He is so precious.
As for my husband. He ended up back in surgery last week due to an infection in the leg. The had to reopen the incision.
Here is part of an email I sent to our church family…
“We went to the vascular surgeon again last Tuesday for a detail Doppler study to see how deep the damage is to the veins. As we had already been told the valves have stopped functioning. But, through all of this we did find some good news. There is a chance that the doctor will recommend a surgery (I know how can surgery be good news!!) that will ablate the vein so that blood will no longer travel through the vein. The blood would then be forced through the deep vein which is working perfectly. The surgery would be a good route to take because we would no longer have to be concerned with blood clots which is a risk that he has right now if we do not keep an eye on the blood pooling in his leg. We ask that you pray that the doctor will recommend the surgery rather than just having Jarret wear compression hose which do not lower his risk of blood clots substantially.
That Tuesday afternoon Jarret had surgery to reopen the incision and clean it out. The doctor said all looked well and that they were able to get the incisions out that were causing the infection in the leg. He had to stay the night since they had him on a pain pump. He came home the next day but it took him a few days to come out of the fog since this time they would not give him a spinal due to the infection so he was given a general as well as the allergic reaction to the antibiotics they gave him.
He is doing well but his leg is very tender and he is just now getting back to his normal self.”
Tomorrow morning we see the vascular surgeon and are praying he will recommend the surgery for the vein. Then tomorrow afternoon we see the orthopedic and I look forward to hearing what he has to say.
