Ok….so we have been officially doing school for about eight weeks now and just have not gotten around to using a timeline, etc. I started a BOC but it’s just not sitting right with DS and I don’t think he’s ready to do a BOC even a family one. I want to buy the figures from homeschool in the woods but not sure what kind of timeline they would be suitable for. Im intested in making one BUT I keep putting it off due to time, etc. Is there a wall timeline that you can buy that will work well with the homeschool in the woods figures? Would be interested in one that is not too expensive, accordian style where I can fold it up and put it away or put it on the wall….either way! Any ideas!
I have the Ancients timeline from Knowledge Quest and the Homeschool in the Woods figures work wonderfully well on it. We also are using them in our BOC. They come in two sizes and we just the smaller size.
I have also just printed a free BOC and taped the edges together to create an accordian-fold timeline, but really prefer the one on the wall for a quick casual consult to put things in the right place so to speak.
We use a tri-fold display board (hung vertically) for our wall timeline. We simply cut out the timeline figure, color, and attach with tape on the back. It is easily taken down and stored. Have fun!
Thanks for that suggestion! That may actually save us some wall space. Im starting to panic as we have yet to start a timeline and getting further into our history lessons!
