    Greetings,

Does anyone know where I could find a list of books that won the following awards. Thomas Alva Edison Foundation National Mass Media Award The Best Science Book For Youth, The Best Children’s Science Book, For Special Excellence in Portraying America’s Past.

I just found a book at a used book store that won the “Jewish Council of America Isaac Siegal Memorial Award.” Does anyone know any information about this award?

Thanks ahead of time for any help.

    Thank you Shannon,

I was hoping for a handful of titles to take to the library and read to find out if the Edison list is worth pursuing. With the ones you found it has given me enough. The following are the ones I came across.

Leonard Wibberly won the 1961 Portraying America’s Past Award for Peter Treegate’s War which is in Jan Bloom’s Who Should We Read Book. G. Valens and Glenn T Seeborg won the award Best Science Book for Youth in 1965 for Elements of the Universe. Isaac Asimov won for Building Blocks of the Universe.

Has anyone found this guide to be worthy in selecting books? The title is Best Jewish Books for Children and Teens: A JPS Guide by Linda R. Silver.

I’d choose a few books from the list and read them to decide if books chosen from the list are the kind your family enjoys.

P.S. We usually enjoy books that receive the Sydney Taylor (All of a Kind Family series author) Book Award
