Currently, the Use With and Start After features are set up for resources, not individual chapters within the resources. Here are a couple of ideas that I have used to make the situation you described work.
1. You can split up your spine into the segments that you want to use and schedule them as separate entries. For example, you could schedule CHOW and designate your chapter range for 1-38. Then schedule Joan of Arc to Start After that CHOW entry. Then schedule CHOW and designate your next chapter range, for example 39-48, and schedule your next extra book to Start After that CHOW entry. It takes a little longer, but the Organizer will think that each of those CHOW entries is a separate resource and you can use the Start After feature to get all the books in queue in the exact order you want.
2. The quicker way, but not so exact, is to schedule CHOW as one whole resource and schedule your first extra book to Use With CHOW. Then each additional extra book can be scheduled to Start After that first extra book. So if Joan of Arc is the first one you will use, schedule it to Use With CHOW then set up a chain, as it were, of extra books, each starting after the one in front of it. In that way only one extra book will be displaying at a time along with your spine.
Maybe others have additional ideas. Those are the two that have worked well for me.
