My 10 year old is currently using BJU math (grade 4). This is our third year using BJU and I really like it. The trouble is, my DD really, really does not want to endure 30 minute lessons. She seems to pick up on math quite naturally and is a very good self-starter. Most of the year she has been completing the lessons on her own, just using the summaries in the workbook. She gets very frustrated when she can’t understand a topic and needs me to show her. I am debating about switching, because so much of the meat of the lesson with BJU is in the TG and she is really against doing the lessons. That being said, she has had great success using BJU mostly solo this year. Would you switch? Or keep on with BJU? And if you switch, what to??

We have used MM in the past and it bombed. I have a saxon 6/5 here and I really don’t like it. My oldest uses TT, so that is an option also. For my part, I am not a strong math person. I don’t explain concepts well and need some hand-holding (hence my love of BJU!) (Oh, we use the BJU TG/workbook combo. I don’t think going to the online version or TG cd is going to solve out issue. She really wants to self-teach.)
