Help for Teaching U.S. History for High School the CM Way (Interesting Resources Needed!!)

I want to add that right now I am longing for a very good U.S. History spine book that is like The Mystery of History books written for the high school level with wonderful recommended resources to use (biographies, literature books, DVDs, etc.).  Does anyone have anything to recommend to me to use with our high school daughter as we begin the CM method of learning?  I need to find something that will help her begin to enjoy learning!  Any wondeful suggestions this way for science biology as well since she does not like Apologia at the high school level?
