Hello everyone, and is anyone near us?

   Hello! I was wondering if there are any other SCM’ers in my area. We live near Geneva, OH.

    Also, I need to introduce myself….We live on a small farm with a big house and a menagerie of animals. My DH & I have 5 children – ds10, dd9, ds6, dd4, & ds2. I’d started out homeschooling using unit studies, but, while neat looking, are a lot of work for mommy! After struggling for 2 yrs to teach ds9 the alphabet, we discovered he had ADD & dyslexia. He went to a special school for almost 2 yrs, and we are currently homeschooling again using SCM just about exclusively. I’m so grateful for this site!!! It’s wonderful!!!!

  I’d also like to share a little tip that has greatly simplified record keeping for me. Go to the website notebooking.com and find free resources. From there, click on planning charts, then, down near the bottom, blank daily assignment record. I print one out for each child & write the resources we’re using for that child in the blanks running perpendicular across the top. Then, each day, I write in the date, and check off or write small notes in the boxes running across. We also have one that lists our together work. Very simple, very quick, and it usually lasts about 1/2 – 1 month per sheet. I keep track as we’re doing schoolwork, and then all I have to do in the evening is write down whatever books I’ve read aloud to them that day (in a separate notebook).
