Hi! I have been reading this forum and site for a few months now and finally decided to join in. I’m Jenn. I have two little girls who are 3 and 5. Right now we just read a lot, play outside, and create with art materials. We will be beginning school with my oldest in the fall using a lot of SCM material. I’m really excited about it.
Two questions I have are…
Will SCM be around for the next 12 years? I don’t like change. I want to commit to using this curriculum, but I’m not sure it will be there for me. Probably an irrational “fear”.
Are there places to find SCM curriculum guides for sale used? I prefer to buy things used for a number of reasons, but I can’t seem to find any of the guides I am looking for in my usual places.
Thanks for all your help. I am looking forward to being a part of this online community. 🙂
http://www.homeschoolclassifieds.com has a few SCM materials, search Charlotte Mason or SCM. I saw Jack’s Insects, a couple history modules, and some others.

Well, we can’t predict the future but we don’t plan on going anywhere. And if for some reason we had to quit doing this we would certainly make efforts to find someone like minded to take over.

They don’t show up used very often because people tend to hang onto them. That could be a good thing, though. We believe it’s an indicator of what people think of the materials.

The guides (bought new) are very reasonably priced if you compare them to other guides. If you buy them used, once you add in shipping, you will probably only save a few dollars.
