We are an American CM/classical home school family living in Klaipeda, Lithuania. I just discovered for the next school year we are the ONLY home school family in the city… 180,000 people! 🙁 So that is lonely and a little discouraging. I am working on planning our next school year and stumbled across this forum. While downloading a book for my daughter… during what I think must be our Morning Basket time… which I would also like to develop more intentionally. 😀 But I thought maybe it would be good for me to find an online forum or co-op type of thing where I could talk with like-minded people who understand what I’m going through. So thanks for reading!
Welcome, Lisa! I’m so glad you found this forum. It has been a huge source of encouragement to me the last few years. What a difficult position to be in. But you will find many like-minded moms here. We look forward to getting to know you better.
I have been homeschooling for 20 years and have three sons ages almost 26, 12 and 12 (the youngest adopted from China six years ago.). We live on a small farm in TN. I discovered CM during my oldest’s first grade year and we’ve been following her methods to various degrees ever since. I live in an area that has a very thriving CM community with names you might recognize so I understand the importance of support. Thankfully with the Internet that support can take other forms.
Welcome! This is a great source of encouragement for your homeschool journey. And many here do not do CM for every subject all of the time. Do what’s best for your family. There are many great posts in the past you can read on the subject of your interest. And feel free to post any time. There are many wise mothers here eager to help.
