I was listening to the Hedge of Thorns off Lamplighter’s website trying to decide if it would be right for my kids, and was interupted. I hit the wrong button trying to restart and and ended up at the beginning. Can someone tell me how it ends?
I’m not sure how far you got, but John ends up pushing the Belle into the hedges. She gets hurt and he is so upset that he hurt his sister. Dad and Mom don’t say much that night, but the next day Dad takes the boy to the hedge and holds him up so he can see the other side. John sees that just beyond the hedge is a huge cliff and had Belle succeded in getting past the hedge she would have fallen to her death. The writer talks about how God often puts hedges in our life to keep us from bad things. The Dad also talks about how important it is to stay on the path that God has chosen for us and if we leave that path we will know sorrow. Excellent book. We reference it often for our boys.
They sell an illustrated version as well as a hardback version.
