I bought strips of cork from staples several years back. The cork is attached to the wall by sticky squares that came with kit. The artwork gets push pinned onto the cork. Saves the walls from pushpin holes though I have not tried to take the cork off the walls yet. Each strip of cork is about 2 feet long and I hung 4 pieces on one wall. Works well for us. We use it for our artist study. I can try to attach a photo of it tomorrow (too tired tonight: ). We also have a piece if yarn around the top of the school room with clothes pins. I just put a small nail or screw in each corner near the ceiling. I then wrapped a piece of yarn once or twice around each screw and then I had a very cheap and quick way to hang kids creations. It only requires four small holes near the ceiling. Best of luck in your quest to find the best solution for you.

Ok I read the original post but no time for the others sorry. I have kids who also want to hang things and I just hate perminate things. I buy these things called removable mounting tabes. They really come off anything without pealing the paint. They are strong enough for me to put up letters one a week and Aa will still be holding strong by Zz week 26. I put in 4 corners with some things and maybe just top and bottom with others. My dh HATED with major capital letters that blue sticky stuff cause it always caused some problem, also the 3M tye things were always hit or miss if they’d work or no damage my walls. He likes this stuff and I do too. I have been using it for 3 years. If you don’t have a store near you and you’d like to try a few I’d be happy to send you some just PM me. Good luck Misty

The wire in the Pinterest photo looks like plastic clothesline. I see from the photos containing the directions that they are sticking an eye fastener into the end of the white wire, but I don’t recall what the end of plastic clothesline is like, so I’m not sure if that’s it.
We haven’t had any trouble removing Command hooks, but we haven’t left any up for more than a few weeks on the inside of our home. I read somewhere that if the tab on the adhesive part breaks off so you can’t pull to remove it, you can heat it with a hair dryer and the adhesive portion will release.

Misty, I totally had those tabs ON MY LIST to get from Rainbow Resource last spring, but then the list was thrown out and I had to recreate it from memory (note to self: always use some of the pretty notepad paper I have for lists, instead of the back of an envelope that does not look like a “keeper” to other people cleaning up).
I never actually tried them, but they looked promising on RR. Totally forgot about them, so thank you for posting! I’m on my way out to Target this afternoon…I doubt I’ll find it there, but that would be so great if I did.

Back from Target… and no, they were not there. 🙁 I didn’t think they would be, but I was hoping! However, I did find some washi tape (although admittedly I am a bit fearful about using it directly on the walls).
I also looked for a memory board type of thing for some of the kids favorites personal notes and pics and such — I knew it would probably be more than I’d want to pay as opposed to making one but…ya, $20 for one and only one style. Ouch. Maybe a project the kids could undertake from Pinterest? (Handcraft?? lol) I’m not sure how hard those are to make, but maybe I can look into that.
Surprisingly, Target was selling a cheaper version of the Dynamic Frame, but the front portion where you add in the picture requires you to bend back those little metal tabs like the backs of frames often have — I could see those breaking off in short order. The frame holds extra pages in a pocket inside the back half of the frame. So, cheaper in price than the Dynamic, but…ya, cheaper in quality as well.
I forgot to look for plastic clothesline for the line idea (thank you, Sue, for commenting on the assembly of that!), but I’m thinking that MAYBE I should go for either sort of random grouping or row of either giant cute clothespins or cute binder clip thingys and those removeable mounting tabs or possibly 3M thing. @Misty: do you think those tabs could hold the weight of a clip like that or clothespin, holding a kids’ painting?
And maybe I can start a fund for real Dynamic frames for our next place. 🙂

How about not displaying but archiving instead? My children each have a 2 inch binder filled with page protectors for only special artwork. We cut our art paper down to fit into standard page protectors. Because the children know to put their favorite art in their binders immediately, they each have wonderful art collections that are enjoyed daily.
