Weekly – Each week in class, we listen to a section of this version (https://www.amazon.com/Macbeth-The-Arkangel-Shakespeare/dp/B00KB9UBZY) and read along in the script. We narrate before and after, point out certain things and go over some vocabulary.

Here are a few extras we’re doing with Macbeth study in our form 4 (highschool) kids in our CM co-op.

Video – We watched the Macbeth episode from PBS’ Shakespeare Uncovered our first week of class.

Comic Book – This was homework sent home after our first class. Read this comic book version for a fun introduction to the full play.

Group Project – They are working in groups throughout the term on this one and presenting it act by act using a trifold display. These will be displayed at our banquet. (Not my idea, idea of the blog listed.)

Individual Project – They will turn this in at the end of the term and we will display at our banquet. (Not my idea, idea of the blog listed.)

Macbeth Scavenger Hunt – We’re doing this soon in a local shopping district. I no longer have a blog, so I’ll describe it here as best I can. I made photos w/ text overlays. We will track the “hunt” by text. I text the team a location riddle clue. They solve and text me the answer. If correct, I text them a photo of the location. They go there, act out a part of a scene and film it and send me photo evidence. I send the next clue. Winning team gets Starbucks gc. You can see the photos I will text at this link. They are specific to my location, but could be adapted to anywhere easily enough.  This idea was mine and my co-teacher’s. Some of the poems/riddles were from online, the others were written by a poetic mom in our group.

Movie – We will be watching Patrick Stewart PBS Great Performances version at my house at the end of the term. We will compare and contrast it with the play.

Just wanted to share some go-along activities for anyone interested. Clearly, these can be modified to any play.
