We are just finishing The Shadow Series books by Piet Prins and we loved them!  There are five, short books about the Dutch Resistance during WWII.  I read them to our children, ages 5-12 and we all enjoyed them very much.  Children who are reading well could read them independently also.  There is absolutely no objectionable material in them and they are Christ-centered without being “preachy”.

We also enjoyed reading the Journey Through the Night series by Anne DeVries on this time period.

Piet Prins also has a series set in Australia.  We’re reading those next.

We like Piet Prins and Anne De Vries also!  I’m not aware of the series set in Australia – let us know how they are, would you?
