I got to go to the Library all. by. myself yesterday!  It was magical!  We moved here (to TX from FL) almost a year ago and it was the first time I got to peruse the adult non-fiction books and really familiarize myself with everything there.  It’s a good thing the Library is FREE because I have a serious book problem.  Haha!

Anyways, I just wanted to share a few great finds (mostly specific to Module 1) I happened across while there in…

-Cooking in World Cultures: Food & Cooking in Ancient Egypt by Clive Gifford

-Draw Grassland Animals: A Step-by-Step Guide by Doug DuBosque

-Ralph Masiello’s Ancient Egypt Drawing Book  (Such easy to follow steps!)

-Fashion, Costume and Culture: Volume 1: The Ancient World (they have 6 volumes total so they might line right up with all 6 modules. I didn’t check though)

-The Art of Being a Lion *see below*

-The Art of Being an Elephant (both are by Christine & Michel Denis-Huot and they are large, oversize books with AMAZING photography of the animals in their natural habitats in Africa and so much great info about their habitats, social and family life, eating habits etc.

And since we live in TX I found some great Texas specific field guides for birds, trees and wild flowers so now when we go on nature walks, hopefully we can more easily know what we are looking at or which leaves we are collecting etc.

Thanks for the recommendations, we’ll be using them! We’re loving Module 1 so far and really appreciate the supplemental books!
