I want to do a study on geology for science next year for my 1st, 3rd, & 5th graders. I have a somewhat living book for a spine but it’s written from an evolutionary perspective. I’d like to find a Great Flood-based geology book to go along with it that would be suitable for elementary kids. It doesn’t have to be a living book. Any suggestions?
Also, any suggestions for good picture books to go along with a geology study?

Check http://northwestrockandfossil.com/ we did a geology program from them 2 years ago and really enjoyed it a lot, my kids still talk about it. They have a variety of geology books, something there might help.

Master Books has the God’s Design book Our Planet Earth and The Geology Book, but I’m wondering if that’s too old for your age group. One other book I would check out from them is Earth: Its Structure and Changes. It says Grades 4-6 on it but it looks like there’s lots of fun hands-on like rock collecting and building a volcano.

Are the above books considered Living? I looked at some suggested living books from Sabbath Mood, but since they are older- they were written during the peak of Darwinism and are evolution based.

I bought the Geology for Kids book from the nwrocksandfossils link above. I’m not sure if it’d be considered living or not (don’t remember for sure and I’m too lazy to go dig it out and look right now) but it seemed fairly engaging and I think it’ll be a good spine.

Check out the Jonathan Park audio series! They are amazing and come with workbooks if you want them. They do follow a fictional family, but the scientific facts are real. http://www.jonathanpark.com
