Great artist resource found 2nd hand for us :)

    So I decided to do module 6 this year for my kids. I have been worried sick how I was going to find resources. I stopped to a yard sale the other day and got a Normal Rockwell hardback book for $1.00. It has 63 pieces of his work. This book is so tall.

     

    Today I got a nudge to go in the resale shop. I found (in a bundle) A Fine Art Jigsaw Puzzle of 3 artists we are studying. Van Gogh (The Wheat Field), Cassat (Children Playing on the Beach), and Renoir (Oarsmen at Chatou). I payed $1.91 for the bundle. I think is shrieked a little too loudy in the store. I was like a school kid jumping for joy. I couldn’t wait to get home and explore my treasures and share with all of you my finds.

    That is great – the Norman Rockwell sounds like a real find….and the puzzles what fun art and puzzles together. I can understand why you are so happy, sometimes things are just waiting for us to find….Linda

    I know just what you mean. I found a book for 20 cents at a friend of the library sale of artwork from the Orsay museum in Europe, like it was someone’s European souvenir they decided they didn’t want anymore. It has Van Gogh, Monet, Cassat, Degas, and more. It was a book of the tour of the museum and the art on display there. 20 cents!!!

    The good Lord provides for our homeschools.
