This is one subject I am having the hardest time to figure out!!

My soon to be 7th grader has not done much formal grammar, been putting it off.

This year we did 2 written narrations a week, copywork, dictation and alternated between ILL and Wordly Wise. We just started Grammar Key and I am hoping we can catch up w/that this summer.

I am debating what to do next year.

Looking at Queens language lessons for the secondary child or Winter’s promise 7th grade Language art.

Would anyone have any feedback on either?

Although I love Queen’s beauty of their language arts books, I have found that they are primarily copywork, not very heavy on grammar.  So if you are looking for something a bit more challenging, I’m not sure if that would be what you are looking for.  Haven’t used Winter’s Promise so I can’t comment on that.

    Good luck choosing!

thanks, good to know, I was actually thinking to get Queen’s copywork books too!

I called Winter Promise and they told me 7th grade would be challenging for a child who has not done that much grammar which is why we are doing Grammar key now. Don’t know if that will be enough!?

Just wanted to throw out there that Winter Promise is an amazing company! I’ve used a lot of their stuff 🙂 unfortunately not the 7th grade grammar 🙁

We did Children around the world from Winter promise and I really liked it. We didn’t follow everything on the schedule but I like to have more to choose from than not enough!!
